Daywise Itinerary

• DAY 1

  Reach Bagdogra Airport and get transferred to Phuntsholing by car.

  Complete the immigration processes and relax. Spend spare time at your own leisure.

  Stay overnight in a hotel in Phuntsholing. 

• DAY 2

  Paro

  Leave early to Paro and pass through the scenic Bhutan. The drive will be for around 4 hours, which will include a stop for lunch and photography.

  After reaching Paro valley, check in to your hotel and at late afternoon, start exploring Paro.

  Visit National Museum, housed in an old watchtower above Paro Dzong and the collection include displays of spectacular thankas, bronze statues, beautiful stamps from Bhutan and the Tshogshing Lhakhang with its carvings depicting the history of Buddhism.

  In the evening, head back to your hotel and relax.

• DAY 3

  Taktsang monastery

  Depart from Paro town and travel about 9 miles to the north to indulge in a one and half hour hike to the viewpoint of Taktsang monastery on a cliff.

  Take a short tea break en rout to the monastery and enjoy the drive to the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu.

  Reach Thimphu in the evening and check in to your hotel.

  Stay overnight in a hotel in Thimphu. 

• DAY 4

  Thimphu

  After breakfast, head to Thimphu for sightseeing and visit Memorial Chorten, Painting school, National Library, Bhutanese handmade paper factory.

  In the afternoon, have lunch and bid adieu to the capital city, Thimphu and travel to Punakha via the Dochu La pass, located at the height of 3050m from the mean sea level.

  If the weather permits, you can view the picturesque beauty of eastern Himalayan range from the Dochu La pass.

  On the way visit Chhimmi Lhakang, which is the temple consecrated in the honor of Lam Drukpa Kuenly.

  In the evening, reach Punakha and relax.

  Stay overnight in a hotel in Punakha.

• DAY 5

  Punakha Dzong

  After breakfast, head to Punakha Dzong. Indulge in a 2.5 hours hike up to the Po Chhu with the sweeping views of the Punakha valley. Reach the bridge at the start point and have delicious lunch there.

  Head for a rafting adventure from here and raft in the lower section of Po Chhu with class 2 and 3 rapids for two hours.

  In the evening end your Punakha Dzong trip and head back to the camp.

  Stay overnight in Punakha camps.

• DAY 6

  Rafting

  After breakfast in the morning, embark for the rafting activity in the upper sections of Pho Chhu.

  During this rafting trip, you will be rafting through the rapids of class 3 and some class 4.

  In the evening, head back to Punakha.

  Stay overnight in Punakha camps.

• DAY 7

  Dochu La Pass

  After breakfast, indulge in a rafting activity for the last time in the lower sections of Pho Chhu, facing the class 2 and 3 rapids.

  After that savor your taste buds with a delicious lunch and head back to Thimphu via the Dochu La Pass.

  Reach Thimphu in the evening, relax and spend time at leisure.

  Stay overnight in a hotel at Thimphu.

• DAY 8

  Thimphu

  Today, after breakfast, spend the day at leisure in Thimphu and stroll around the local Thimphu market and take away some memories in the form of souvenir.

  Or you can go for a day hike to the temple of Tango Cheri, which is about half hour drive up the valley and then about an hour hike to the monastery.

  In the evening, head to Paro and reach there by night.

  After dinner, stay overnight in Paro.

• DAY 9

  End of tour

  In the morning, get transferred to Paro for your flight back home.
